ABOUT
Free tools. Real data. No gatekeeping.
ZapFlab exists because good health information should not be locked behind paywalls, coaching fees, or pharmaceutical marketing.
What We Do
We build free, evidence-based tools and guides for people researching GLP-1 medications (Ozempic, Wegovy, Mounjaro, Zepbound) and structured nutrition programs like Optavia.
Our calculators help you estimate weight loss timelines, compare medication costs, and plan meals. Our guides break down clinical trial data, dosing schedules, and side effects in plain language.
Everything is free. No sign-ups required. No paywalls. No coaching upsells.
How We Create Content
We base our content on published clinical trials, FDA prescribing information, and peer-reviewed research. When we cite a statistic โ like \”16.9% average weight loss on Wegovy\” โ we link to the source study (in this case, the STEP 1 trial published in the New England Journal of Medicine).
We regularly review and update content as new research emerges, prices change, or regulations shift (like the FDA\x27s 2025 ruling on compounded semaglutide). Each page shows when it was last reviewed.
We are not doctors. We are not pharmacists. We are people who got frustrated by the lack of clear, free information on these topics โ and decided to do something about it.
What We Are Not
- โ Not affiliated with pharmaceutical companies. We have no relationship with Novo Nordisk, Eli Lilly, or any drug manufacturer. We don\x27t receive payments, samples, or incentives from them.
- โ Not affiliated with Optavia/Medifast. We are not coaches, distributors, or partners. Our Optavia content is independent research and community-sourced information.
- โ Not a telehealth provider. We don\x27t prescribe medications, sell medications, or connect you with prescribers. We provide information โ you work with your own healthcare provider.
- โ Not medical advice. Nothing on this site should replace a conversation with your doctor. We give you information to make those conversations more productive.
Our Sources
We primarily rely on:
- โ FDA prescribing information (official drug labels)
- โ Published clinical trials (STEP, SUSTAIN, SURMOUNT programs)
- โ Peer-reviewed journals (NEJM, Lancet, JAMA, Diabetes Care)
- โ FDA announcements (drug approvals, shortage lists, enforcement actions)
- โ Manufacturer pricing data (list prices, savings programs)
Each guide page includes a Sources section linking to the specific studies and documents we referenced.
